Ingredients
- All purpose flour (maida)(1 cup)
- Cornflour(1tbsp)
- Buttermilk (1 1/2 cups)
- Black pepper powder (1/2 tsp)
- Baking soda( a pinch)
- salt to taste
- Onions (white or yellow,cut into rings, 4)
- oil for deep-frying
- 1 tsp chaat masala
How to make Buttermilk
To make 1 1/2 cups of buttermilk, combine ½ cup of fresh curd with 1 cup of water in a bowl, whisk well and use as per the recipe.
Preparation
- Mix the plain flour, cornflour, buttermilk, pepper powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl and to make a batter of pouring consistency.
- Heat the oil in a pan, dip the onion rings in the batter, a few at a time, and deep-fry till they are golden brown in colour from both the sides.
- Drain on absorbent paper, sprinkle a little chaat masala over it and toss well.
- Now your Buttermilk Onion Rings is ready. serve hot with tomato ketchup.
