Paneer Butter Masala


Ingredients
  • Paneer (200gm)
  • Onion sliced (2 medium size)
  • Ginger-garlic paste(2tsp)
  • Water melon seeds/char magaj (2tsp)
  • Cashew nut(5-6 piece)
  • Turmeric powder(1tsp)
  • Red chili powder(1tsp)
  • Garam masala (1tsp)
  • Fenugreek leaves/kasuri methi(1tsp)
  • Fried onion(optional)
  • Butter (2tsp)
  • Oil as needed
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar (2 tsp)
  • water as needed.
Preparation
  1. Cut the paneer into cubes or as you wish.Keep aside.
  2. Make a fine paste of char magaj and cashew with some water.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add sliced onion,saute for 2-3 min till golden brown.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste,salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder.Fry for 4-5 min by adding water.
  5. Now add magaj and cashew paste and some water to it and cook for a while.
  6. Now add the paneer, fenugreek leaves, sugar, garam masala and water. Cook for 2-3 min.
  7. Add butter to it and switch off the  flame. If you wish add some fried onion on it.
  8. Now your Paneer butter masala is ready.serve with Roti or Naan.
