Rajma Curry


Ingredients

  • Rajma/Red kidney beans(1 cup soaked 5-6 hours)
  • Onion (1 finely chopped and 1 finely paste)
  • Tomato(1 large finely paste)
  • Coriander powder(2 tsp)
  • Turmaric powder(2 tsp)
  • Chili powder(2 tsp)
  • Rajma masala (optional)
  • Whole garam masala(1-2 cinnamon, 1 cardamom, 1 bey leaf)
  • Fenugreek leaves(1 tbsp)
  • Coriander leaves
  • Salt
  • Oil
Preparation

  1. Take the soaked  red kidney beans/Rajma in a pressure cooker and add some salt and water. Boil it for 3-4 whistles on medium heat.
  2. Now heat oil in a pan, add chopped onion.Saute it for few minutes.Then add whole garam masala.
  3. After that add tomato and onion paste.Put turmeric powder, coriander powder, chili powder, Rajma masala, salt. Cook it for few minutes
  4. Then add boiled rajma along with its stock.Add fenugreek leaves.
  5. Cook it for 10 minutes in low heat. At last add chopped coriander leaves.
  6. Now your Rajma/red kidney beans curry is ready, serve with rice or roti.
